Friends,
I'd like to share some great news with you about your national theatre with the local address, and invite you to be a part of the next adventure at the Alliance Theatre.
As I write this, the virtuosic team of dancers that graced our Alliance Stage this past fall are preparing for the March 25th opening of Come Fly Away, at the Marriott Marquis Theatre on Broadway. The journey of Twyla Tharp's incredible musical to Broadway from its first home here in Atlanta, confirms our commitment of offering Alliance audiences first-look access to the best theatre – and the best theatre artists – in the nation.
For our 2010-11 season, we're bringing you the best and the brightest in a slate of productions the country will talk about – but which you'll see first.
In the year ahead, not only does the Alliance Stage boast the world premiere of the musical Bring It On, a roof-rocking musical about competitive cheerleading, but also two richly powerful plays: a bristling world premiere comedy of manners by New York Times Best-Selling novelist and playwright Pearl Cleage and the raucous Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play August: Osage County. Plus, a diverse blend of music, comedy, and drama on the intimate Hertz Stage and, of course, our inspiring Family Series – affording our audience of tomorrow a chance to start with the best.
Great new work of national importance begins here in Atlanta. It begins here at the Alliance Theatre. And it begins here, with you. Join us this season – you’ll be glad that you did.
