In partnership with the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, we invite you to a free reading of Bread, a new play by Regina Taylor.
Set in Dallas in 2016, this haunting play dramatizes an African American family grasping at the American Dream. Ruth and James await the birth of their second child as their oldest son, Junior, prepares for college. Then James's brother gets out of prison and needs a place to stay. With great characters, contemporary ethical dilemmas, music, and humor, this play shows how difficult and ongoing the goal of security can become.
