Ben Omerod

Ben lit the original UK Tour and West End production of Zorro as well as productions in Paris, Tokyo and the Netherlands. His many international theatre, opera and dance credits include Two Men of Florence (Huntingdon Theater, Boston); Les Noces (Grand Theatre, Geneva); La Traviata (Danish National Opera); The Beauty Queen of Leenane (Druid, Galway/ Royal Court/Broadway); Jeanne d’Arc au Bucher (Academia Santa Cecilia, Rome); Falstaff, Cosi fan tutti, Il Trovatore (Scottish Opera); Frame of View (Cedar Lake Ballet, New York); See Blue Through (Ballet Gulbenkian, Introdans, Phoenix); Tender Hooks (Skånes Dans Teater, Ballet Gulbenkian); Cinderella (Göteborg); Essence (Walker Dance Park Music); Journey (Candoco) and numerous productions at Dublin’s Abbey Theatre. In the UK he has worked extensively for the Royal Shakespeare Company, English Touring Theatre and Propeller whose work is also seen regularly in the US with The Taming of the Shrew and Twelfth Night recently at Ann Arbor and Minneapolis. Other credits include Onassis and Macbeth (West End); Dimetos (Donmar Warehouse); Bent, Uncle Vanya, The Winter’s Tale and In Remembrance of Things Past (National Theatre). Ben designed the lighting for the Calico Museum of Textiles, Ahmedabad, directed Athol Fugard’s Dimetos (Gate, London) and adapted four films from Kieslowski’s Dekalog for E15.
