He wrote the music and lyrics for The Light in the Piazza\, with a book by Craig Lucas\, which premiered on Broadway at Lincoln Center’s Vivian Beaumont Theater in 2005\, and won 6 Tony Awards\, including Best Score and Orchestrations for Guettel. In 2019\, his work on Aaron Sorkin’s To Kill a Mockingbird was nominated for a Tony Award for best score. His musical Floyd Collins\, with a book by Tina Landau\, won the Lucille Lortel Award for best musical\, and the Obie Award for best music – it is coming to Broadway’s Vivian Beaumont Theater Spring 2025. His musical\, Saturn Returns (recorded as Myths and Hymns) was produced at the Public Theater in 1998. His musical\, Days of Wine and Roses had its world premiere in 2023 at the Atlantic Theater Company’s Linda Gross Theater in New York City\, and opened at Broadway’s Studio 54 in 2024. For Days of Wine and Roses\, Adam was nominated for best score at the Tony Awards and won the Frederick Loewe Award. He has several shows in the works\, including Millions. He has won the Stephen Sondheim Award (1990)\, the ASCAP New Horizons Award (1997) and The American Composers Orchestra Award (2005). He attended Yale University\, and received an honorary doctorate from Lehman College in 2007. He was made an Honorary Member of the Royal Academy of Music in 2019. Adam is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.\n\n\n\nBob Martin is an award-winning writer\, producer\, and performer whose international work spans theatre\, television\, and film. A Tony and Drama Desk Award recipient\, he is celebrated for co-creating acclaimed musicals including The Drowsy Chaperone\, Elf\, and The Prom\, all of which enjoy enduring global popularity with productions worldwide. On screen\, Martin adapted The Prom into a feature film for Netflix with a star-studded cast including Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman. He co-created the cult classic television series Slings & Arrows and the forthcoming American Classic for MGM+\, which stars Kevin Kline. This Broadway season\, Martin is represented by three blockbuster musicals: Boop! at the Broadhurst Theatre\, Smash at the Imperial Theatre\, and a return holiday engagement of Elf at the Marquis Theatre. Additional musicals in development include The Princess Bride\, Night at the Museum\, The Sting and more. The Prom enjoyed its world premiere at Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre prior to Broadway\, and Bob is thrilled to have returned back to the Alliance for the world premiere of Millions.\n\n\n\nFather John Fraser is a Roman Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of New York for the last thirty years. An avid patron of the arts\, his seminary training and enthusiasm for theatre and opera were first tapped by City Opera of New York in the early 2000’s serving as a Liturgical Consultant for their productions of Sour Angelica and Tosca. In 2004-5\, he was invited to share similar insights with Adam Guettel on The Light in the Piazza\, and is pleased to be here in support of the production of Millions. Fr. Fraser currently serves as pastor of St. Malachy’s – The Actors’ Chapel in the theatre district of New York City. In collaboration with some of the city’s most distinguished artists\, St. Malachy’s embraces the richness of story telling through music\, dance and prose\, while ministering to those seeking spiritual enlightenment in a thriving urban environment and to a vibrant outreach program for senior citizens – Encore Community Services – offering meals\, social services\, companionship to the homebound and a center dedicated to “aging through the arts.”\n\n\n\n
