About the Workshop

Our free acting workshops give prospective students the opportunity to participate in a class and learn about all our offerings in a fun and supportive environment.

In the workshop students will:

  • Actively engage in musical theater exercises
  • Work with fellow classmates
  • Learn about upcoming classes and programs
  • Students who register for and attend this workshop are eligible for a 20% discount toward an upcoming class.  The promo code will be distributed to all attendees. Discount expires one week after workshop date.

Rhyn McLemore

Rhyn McLemore is an Atlanta-based actor/singer and educator. Off-Broadway: Dot (directed by Tony-winner Kenny Leon) - The Billie Holiday Theatre; A World to Win - The York Theatre; Violet (NYC revival) and The Crucible - Gallery Players. Favorite Regional credits: The Sound of Music - Sierra Repertory Theatre; The Spitfire Grill - Cape Fear Regional Theatre; A Streetcar Named Desire, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Our Town - West Virginia Public Theatre; The Crucible and The Comedy of Errors - North Carolina Shakespeare Festival. Atlanta credits include: Darlin’ Cory, Ever After (Suzi nomination), The Incredible Book Eating Boy, and A Christmas Carol - Alliance Theatre; The Humans and Safety Net - Theatrical Outfit; Roe (Suzi nomination) and The Cake - Horizon Theatre; Fun Home, Stupid F'ing Bird, and Company - Actor's Express; Cinderella, The Bridges of Madison County and Split in Three - Aurora Theatre; Dot - Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company. Maiesha McQueen

Maiesha McQueen is an award-winning, multi-faceted artist with proud Atlanta roots. She was most recently seen in Lambert-Smith Media’s successful run of FELA!, portraying the iconic Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti in her home town. Previously, she moved audiences in her Henry Award-winning portrayal of Celie in THE COLOR PURPLE at Denver Theatre Center, and performed in a sold-out run of COME FROM AWAY in Gander, Newfoundland. Maiesha originated the role of Nurse Norma on the first national tour of WAITRESS the musical, and was honored to perform the principal role of Becky alongside stars such as Sara Bareilles and Jennifer Nettles in the Broadway revival production. Other notable productions include FANNIE, CLYDE’S, HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW, UNTIL THE FLOOD, CHASIN’ DEM BLUES, EAST TEXAS HOT LINKS, MAHALIA! (Suzie Award for Best Lead Actress in a Musical), and AINT’ MISBHAVIN’, which was selected as a “New York Times Critics’ Pick” in 2022. Maiesha founded and currently serves as Creative Director for the arts education program, A Bite Out of Broadway.
