Megan Cramer is currently the Upper Learning theater teacher at The Galloway School. Born and raised in Atlanta, and a proud graduate of Henry W. Grady High School, she spent 15 years living, working, and making theater in New York City, most notably as the Associate Artistic Director of The 52nd Street Project (www.52project.org), and as the Middle School drama teacher at Avenues: The World School. In 2008, she founded an annual playwriting program in Atlanta at Grady High School – the Grady Playmakers Workshop-- an intensive curriculum for high school students that culminates in a staged reading of their work, featuring professional Atlanta actors. Megan received a B.A. degree in theater from Wake Forest University; and before delving into the world of teaching and directing, she performed as an actor in Atlanta with Georgia Shakespeare Festival, Horizon Theater Company, and the Alliance Theater Company; and in NYC with Prospect Theater Company and Blessed Unrest. Outside of school, Megan enjoys frequenting Atlanta's plentiful street fairs and festivals and sweating it out in Zumba class. She is also probably planning her next international adventure... ask her about it!
