Allyship Training
The Alliance Theatre believes that acknowledging and embracing differences in identity is essential to a dynamic cultural conversation.
With this belief, the Alliance created an original allyship curriculum utilizing theater-based learning strategies. This interactive and impactful program asks participants to challenge assumptions, acknowledge biases, and establish a genuine culture of allyship and community in their workplaces, homes, and lives.
Allyship Workshops
There are many times that I find myself reflecting after a meeting, thinking there are a million other things I could have done than attend that meeting. NOT this one!
It truly was the best 2 ½ hours I have spent in a long time! I left the meeting with a greater sense of myself and awareness of others.
Allyship Program Director
Maya Lawrence (she/her) is the founding Allyship Program Director and a Resident Artist at the Alliance Theatre. She is a NYC born- Atlanta based artist and activist, specializing in theater, performance, and poetry. She uses her superpowers of creativity, curiosity, and compassion to develop the Allyship Program for youth and families, corporations, and organizations in pursuit of becoming the most authentic, empathetic versions of themselves. As a proud Spelman College alumna, Maya is on a mission to liberate the world through art using love to light the path.
