About the Class
This introductory screenwriting class is an exploration of the creative elements needed to write scripts for the cinema. Students will learn a step by step process in screenwriting creation, which includes the development of concepts, character-based outlining, drafts, and the production of realistic dialogue. Elements such as treatments, the legalities of film business, and pitching will also be discussed. Students will be encouraged to follow the class timetable in order to have written by class’s end an outline for a full-length motion picture as well as various scenes.
