This class will aim at setting a fundamental understanding of how to read and interpret western music notation. We will move slowly and thoroughly toward helping those with minimal experience in reading music, and build confidence when looking at audition cuts, ensemble choral music, and the numerous symbols that occur throughout written music.
Students can expect to work on:
- Eye-ear coordination and ear training
- Understanding of keys and key signatures
- Scales, triads arpeggios, and other figures that are used for the structures of music
- Pitch matching and pitch memory
- Reading music with more than one vocal part (I.e choral/ensemble parts)
Tuition:$250
Maximum of 16 students
