About the Class

This class is for actors of all mediums and experience levels. We will focus primarily on applying the Viewpoints movement technique to on-camera, live theater, and improv work. Students will learn to use the physical and vocal Viewpoints to physically energize characters and act on their physical impulses with confidence. We’ll also work to free ourselves from judgement in the audition room. Don’t just be a talking head… Viewpoints will help you use your body to set yourself apart in auditions and to up your game onstage and onscreen.

No prior Viewpoints experience is required to take this class.

Eliana Marianes

Eliana Marianes (they/them) has a BA in Theater Studies and English from Emory University. In college, they trained with Out of Hand Theater in using Viewpoints to devise new work and strengthen ensemble. They have trained with the SITI Company in NYC, where they took a master class from the founder of the Viewpoints technique, Anne Bogart. They have served as the movement coach for Theatrical Outfit (Book of Will, The Laramie Project, Our Town), Gainesville Theatre Alliance (Men on Boats), and Théâtre du Rêve (Il Etait Une Fois). They also have over 30 productions in Atlanta as an actor, including: Reykjavik (Actor’s Express), Book of Will (Theatrical Outfit), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Georgia Shakespeare Festival and New American Shakespeare Tavern), Wicket (Dad’s Garage), multiple shows at the Center for Puppetry Arts, and several regional acting credits. They are represented by Stewart Talent, and teach Viewpoints at Drama Inc and all around Atlanta. They passionately believe that movement and voice work should be accessible to everyone without exception, and prioritize a consent based classroom where students can bravely explore themselves and develop their craft.
