Barry is an actor, writer, educator and storyteller. He holds a B.A. in English from Harvard University, and an M.F.A. in Theatre from the University of San Diego and the Old Globe Theatre. He has performed on numerous regional and local stages, including the Florida Shakespeare Festival, Arkansas Rep, Washington, D.C.'s Studio Theatre, Theatrical Outfit, Horizon Theatre, A.R.T. Station, and the Atlanta Shakespeare Tavern. In addition to the Alliance Theatre Institute for Educators and Teaching Artists, Barry teaches and performs assembly programs in schools through Young Audiences, the Atlanta Partnership for Arts in Learning, the Fulton County Arts Council, and the Georgia Council for the Arts. He is on the faculty of Lesley University's Creative Arts in Learning M.Ed. program, teaching courses in "Drama and Critical Literacy" and "Cultural Literacy through Storytelling". Barry has produced two CD's of his original stories, and in 1999 was named the "National Storyteller of the Year." He is a member of Actors' Equity Association, the Southern Order of Storytellers, and Alternate R.O.O.T.S.
