Clay Benning
Clay Benning is celebrating 25 years with the Alliance’s A Christmas Carol and has designed over 150 different productions in his career. He was the Resident Sound Designer for the Alliance Theatre for 20 years and has worked as the Production Sound Engineer on many pre-Broadway shows, including The Color Purple, The Prom, Bring It On, and Maybe Happy Ending. An Atlanta native and Associate Artist at Georgia Shakespeare, he has also worked with Atlanta Ballet, Hartford Stage, Cincinnati Playhouse, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Theatrical Outfit, Geva Theatre, Northwestern University, and the Georgia Aquarium. Now a principal with the acoustic design firm Kirkegaard, he is a graduate of Presbyterian College (B.A.), the North Carolina School of the Arts (M.F.A.), and a member of IATSE/USA829 and TSDCA.
