Mr. Yates has over 25 years of professional experience in regional theatre, film and television. He started his acting career in New York working in theatre and daytime soaps Ryan’s Hope and Search for Tomorrow, to name a few. His stage credits include a range of theatre performances in New York, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Chicago and Atlanta. He’s worked at the Kennedy Center, Alliance Theatre, Denver Center, Hartford Stage, Horizon Theatre Company, Victory Garden Theatre Company and many others. Mr. Yates has had supporting roles in such films as Drumline, Fled, andMidnight Edition and guest-starred on television shows such as Seinfeld, Sparks, I’ll Fly Away, The Heat of the Night andThe Bold and the Beautiful. Aside from his professional career as an actor and director, Mr. Yates is presently the Chair of the Speech Communication and Theatre Arts Department at Clark Atlanta University-Atlanta. Most recently, Mr. Yates directed the Alliance Theatre Education production of The Exonerated.
