Gloria Estefan is an international superstar, Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, actress, author, philanthropist, and humanitarian, widely recognized as one of the most successful Latin crossover artists in music history, as noted by Billboard. With more than 100 million records sold worldwide, she has earned 10 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award nomination for “Music of My Heart,” and major honors including the Kennedy Center Honors, the Gershwin Prize, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom awarded by President Obama to her and her husband Emilio Estefan. She was inducted into both the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, becoming the first Latina inducted in 2023. Her life story and music were brought to Broadway in the Tony-nominated production On Your Feet!, which she and Emilio Estefan executive produced, earning international acclaim and touring productions worldwide. She is also the founder of the Gloria Estefan Foundation, supporting children’s education initiatives and spinal cord research through the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. Beyond music, Estefan has expanded into film and television. She co-hosted the Emmy-winning Red Table Talk: The Estefans, voiced Marta in the animated film Vivo featuring music by Lin-Manuel Miranda. She starred opposite Andy García in Father of the Bride, the movie amassed HBO Max’s biggest audience for a streaming-only film and soared to the No. 1 title spot across HBO Max worldwide. In 2025, she was Gigi in the Dreamworks hit, Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie.  In 2025, she marked her 50-year career milestone with the Spanish-language album Raíces, which achieved major global chart success and earned both Grammy and Latin Grammy awards.  Looking ahead, Estefan continues to shape music and theater with the Broadway-bound musical Basura, premiering in Atlanta in 2026 and heading to Broadway in 2027. Based on the documentary Landfill Harmonic, the production features original music by Gloria Estefan and Emily Estefan, with book by Karen Zacarías, direction by Michael Greif, and music direction by Alex Lacamoire—celebrating resilience, community, and the transformative power of music.
