Lex Martin is an Augusta, GA–raised creative who feeds her soul by merging her passions for creativity, education, and advocacy. A Davidson Fine Arts School alumna, Lex went on to earn her B.A. in Theatre & Performance Studies from Kennesaw State University, where she deepened her love for storytelling and artistic expression. She brings this creative lens to the classroom as a Teaching Artist, working with various arts-based organizations. Lex finds joy in being both a student and teacher of the arts, using performance, writing, and movement to explore identity and imagination. At the heart of her teaching practice is a commitment to nurturing emotional intelligence and empathy. She believes creativity is not just a tool for expression, but a pathway to self-awareness, connection, and healing. Through her work, she empowers young people to embrace who they are and tell their own stories in ways that feel true to them. Outside the classroom, you can find Lex writing, performing, or serving as the creative director of Black Girls Need Love — a creative advocacy platform supporting the mental and emotional wellness of Black women and girls. Through all of her work, Lex remains committed to creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow.
