Lyndsey Jones-McAdams

Teaching Artist

Consistently drawn to theatre as a tool for education, social change and community development, Lyndsey is thrilled to be returning to the Alliance’s Summer Day Camp where this passion was first ignited almost a decade ago. As a theatre professional, Lyndsey has worked in many different facets of the industry. During the school year, she happily spends the day with her elementary students at P.S. 79 in New York City, where she is the full-time theatre teacher. Recently she co-directed, helped develop, and acted in a version of The Odyssey conceived for young audiences. She also served as the stage manager and lighting technician for Spellbound Theatre’s critically acclaimed production for the very young, Wink. An active participant in New York University’s Shakespeare Initiative, Lyndsey performed for two years in the Shakespeare-To-Go touring Company, bringing 60 minute adaptations of Shakespeare’s plays to NYC public schools for free. Through this initiative, Lyndsey directed versions of King Richard III and A Comedy of Errors. Other recent directing credits include: Macbeth, Blanca Flor, Last Summer at Bluefish Cove, The Princess and the Pea, and Julius Caesar. Lyndsey holds a B.A. in Theatre with an emphasis in directing from Decatur’s Agnes Scott College, and a M.A. in Educational Theatre from New York University.
