Marquelle Young began her journey impacting audiences as an Oratorical State and National Speech Champion before the age of 12. It was then that she also found her joy for theatre and dance, and made her theatrical debut at Atlanta’s historic Fox Theatre. From then on she continued performing in professional theatre productions and working with the likes of Kenny Leon, Patdro Harris, and Tyler Perry. She has studied in LA and New York and is a graduate of the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, where she met and studied Meisner under Larry Moss’s tutelage: Steve Perlmutter. This is where her true passion for the Meisner technique was born. After graduating, Marquelle continued to study Meisner and received her training as a Meisner Institute Certified Meisner Coach under the guidance of Scott Trost. With a true passion for all aspects of the arts, she has become an award winning Director, Producer, and Actress. Including projects such as BET’s American Soul, Verizon, Lego, Google, Capitol Records, LifeTime, Cosmopolitan, and Hulu to name a few. For Marquelle, the Meisner work is not just a technique for acting, it’s a way of life. A way to begin trusting yourself and your instincts as an artist beyond this creative industry. She believes this step by step work can heal, can uplift, and awaken a person through the exercises, creating a space for you to live truthfully and continue to search for the truth in your acting. Her goal is to educate and empower the next generation of talented creatives to help change the world through the arts.
