Sara began studying dance at the age of six with Tina Ramirez at Ballet Hispanico in NYC. Performing for most of her life as a dancer, actress, and singer in major theatres around the world, in film, and on television, she is a specialist in Gypsy-style flamenco. Erde has danced extensively in Seville, Spain where she founded the flamenco/theatre company, Abolengo. Also a choreographer and assistant director, Erde is a frequent collaborator with The Metropolitan Opera. Recent productions at the Met include Carmen, Don Carlo, and Les Troyens. She is the lead singer/songwriter for the flamenco funk band Caramelo, and is thrilled to be making her debut with the Alliance. saraerde.com
