The Gipsy Kings – whose members hail from the gypsy settlements in the south of France – have included singers and guitarists from the Reyes and Baliardo families. The band’s vigorous guitar work and passionate vocals are the trademarks of an indigenous musical tradition known as “rumba flamenca.” Since the release of the international hit single “Bamboleo,” from their platinum-selling eponymous debut album, the Gipsy Kings have dominated the World Music charts selling more than fourteen million albums worldwide, numerous Grammy nominations and top-grossing tours around the world for the past 25 years. They are the biggest-selling French act ever. The Gipsy Kings’ music has been featured on television and film in such diverse projects as Dancing with the Stars, Entourage, PBS specials and movies such as Toy Story 3, Fearless, and The Big Lebowski. In the summer of 2013 the Gipsy Kings are releasing their 10th studio recording entitled The Gipsy Kings.
