Playwriting

Four girls sit in a classroom in a small group, holding papers and engaging in discussion near bookshelves and desks.

In this residency, high school teachers partner with a professional playwright to guide students through the playwriting process. Through creative writing exercises and critical feedback methods, students learn to turn unique ideas into plays by creating dialogue, building a compelling plot, and developing complex characters. This residency is designed to support the theatre component of the Georgia Department of Education’s Dramatic Writing course.
