Teaching Artist & Education Jobs
Teaching Artists
The Alliance Theatre offers educational programs for youth, teens, and adults through a variety of offerings including in-school residencies, classes & camps, after-school programs, and specialty workshops. For more information, visit our website. We look for Teaching Artists on a rolling basis but typically have the most availability in November-December and May-June. You are welcome to submit an interest form at any time, but be aware that you may not be contacted until we have a need for artists.
Compensation is based on program area and experience level but starts at $25.50/hour for acting classes and $675/week for drama camp.
Camp teaching artists are required to attend two training days (May 20 or 21 AND May 22, 2026). Training is in person and required.
At this time, we are not able to offer local housing.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to promoting learning.
- When given a curriculum or lesson plan, deliver the assigned material in an engaging and age appropriate manner.
- When creating or using existing curriculum or lesson plans, ensure they are anti-racist, age appropriate, and use engaging and diverse materials to fit the needs of all of your students.
- Follow site-specific protocols and procedures when on a teaching assignment.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully to students, fellow teaching artists, staff, and teachers, and share questions, comments, or concerns with your Program Manager, as needed.
- When appropriate, collaborate with your co-teacher, classroom teacher, or intern to create and/or deliver lesson plans.
- Submit documentation, service reports, and other paperwork as necessary.
- Arrive to your teaching assignment on time, prepared, and ready to teach, having prepared for your lesson ahead of time.
- Represent the mission, vision, and values of the Alliance Theatre Education Department when on a teaching assignment.
- Attend all required trainings, orientations, and meetings.
- Be receptive to feedback and willing to try new things.
Teaching Artist Training Program
The Alliance Theatre’s Education Department is seeking artists to join our Teaching Artist Training Program for our summer drama camps. Ideal candidates are current college students or recent college graduates looking for teaching artist experience. Camps run Monday – Friday from May 26 – August 7, 2026. Due to holidays, we will not be having camp on May 25th or June 19th. Hours are dependent on which group you are working with, but will roughly be 8am – 4:30pm.
Compensation: $350/week
At this time, we are not able to offer local housing.
Program Responsibilities
- Assist teaching artists with stage management, directing, choreography, or musical directing.
- Supervise camper breaks such as lunch, snack, and restroom needs.
- Assist camp staff with carpool pick-up and drop-off
- Work closely with camp staff to assist with classroom needs (supplies, camper support, etc.)
- Monitor camp communication channels to maintain communication within the classroom

Summer Drama Camp Administrative Staff
The Alliance Theatre’s Education Department is looking to fill administrative staff positions for summer drama camp. We are looking for camp coordinators, assistant coordinators, and administrative support staff. Camps run Monday – Friday from May 26 – August 7. Due to holidays, we will not be having camp on May 27th, June 19th, or July 4th. Hours are dependent on position, but will roughly be 8-9 hours per day.
Administrative Staff are required to attend training and prep the week of May 18-22, 2026. All Administrative Staff are required to be CPR and First Aid Certified.
Camp Coordinator
As a Camp Coordinator, you will take the lead in overseeing the dynamic operations of our summer camp programs. Reporting to the Camp Manager, this role is ideal for an experienced professional who is passionate about orchestrating exceptional camp experiences for young participants. Your guidance and coordination will be essential in ensuring that every aspect of our camps runs smoothly.
The Camp Coordinator reports directly to the Camp Manager. You will work collaboratively with camp staff, the Camp Manager, and other team members to ensure the success of our camp programs.
Compensation: $600/week
At this time, we are not able to offer local housing.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the camp, ensuring all activities and schedules are executed
seamlessly. - Collaborate closely with the Camp Manager to plan camp programs, schedules, and activities that
align with our camp’s mission and goals. - Supervise and provide guidance to camp staff, ensuring they are well-prepared to create a safe,
enjoyable, and enriching environment for campers. - Oversee camper registration processes, including data management, payment processing, and
communication with families. - Foster a positive and inclusive camp culture by promoting teamwork, mutual respect, and
adherence to camp policies and guidelines. - Serve as a point of contact for parents and guardians, addressing inquiries, concerns, and
updates related to camp activities and logistics. - Lead and facilitate staff training sessions, focusing on safety protocols, activity execution, and
effective communication. - Monitor camp operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards, making
adjustments as needed to maintain a secure environment. - Assist in the planning and execution of special events, field trips, and end-of-camp celebrations.
- Contribute to ongoing evaluations of camp programs, seeking opportunities for improvement and
growth.
- Proven experience in camp leadership, youth programs, or related fields.
- Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Proficiency in administrative tasks, including data management and communication with
parents/guardians. - Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced camp environment, prioritizing safety and enjoyment for
all participants. - Adaptability and a solution-oriented approach to challenges that may arise during camp
operations. - Must be First Aid and CPR certified.
Assistant Coordinator
As the Assistant Camp Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the seamless operation of our summer camp programs. Reporting to both the Camp Coordinator and the Camp Manager, you will be an integral part of the leadership team responsible for delivering outstanding camp experiences to young participants. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional who is eager to contribute to the dynamic realm of camp operations.
The Assistant Camp Coordinator reports directly to both the Camp Coordinator and the Camp Manager. You will work collaboratively with camp staff, the Camp Coordinator, and other team members to ensure the successful execution of camp programs.
Compensation: $550/week

implementation, and creating memorable camper experiences. - Collaborate in monitoring camp operations to ensure they align with health and safety standards,
and be ready to make adaptable decisions as needed. - Assist in coordinating logistics for off-site field trips, special events, and joyful end-of-camp
celebrations. - Play a part in evaluating camp programs and recommending enhancements based on your
observations and gathered feedback.
- Prior experience in camp settings, youth programs, or related fields is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Administrative Support Staff
The Summer Camp Administrative Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting the seamless operation of our summer camp programs. Reporting to the Camp Coordinator and Camp Manager, this role is designed for young or early career professionals who are eager to contribute to the success of our camp experience.
The Camp Admin Assistant reports directly to the Camp Coordinator and Camp Manager. The role involves close collaboration with the camp staff team to ensure the efficient execution of camp programs.
Compensation: $450/week

- Collaborate with the Camp Coordinator and Camp Manager to assist with camper registration,
including data entry, file organization, and communication with parents/guardians. - Maintain accurate camper records, ensuring medical forms and emergency contact information
are current and well-organized. - Play an integral role in camp logistics by organizing and distributing camp supplies, materials,
and equipment. - Support the creation and distribution of camp schedules and information, ensuring campers,
staff, and families are well-informed. - Provide prompt responses to inquiries from parents, guardians, and staff, offering basic camp
information and details. - Participate in setting up camp facilities, ensuring they are clean, safe, and optimally arranged for
camp activities. - Offer assistance with essential administrative tasks such as photocopying, printing, and
preparing materials for staff and campers. - Assist camp staff during check-in/check-out procedures and any camper travel.
- Contribute positively to the camp environment by maintaining open communication and working
collaboratively with the team. - Manage our camper aftercare program with the support of members of our teaching assistant
staff.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Capacity to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Enthusiasm for embracing the vibrant pace of camp life and interacting with campers, families,
and colleagues. - Prior camp experience or customer service experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Adaptability and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic setting.
- Must be First Aid and CPR certified.
