Acting

Explore the magic of imagination through the art of theater. Young performers will learn the three essential tools of an actor’s trade—body, voice, and imagination—while reimagining scenes from beloved stories and inventing their own unique characters. Along the way, students will develop storytelling, pantomime, and movement skills in a playful and supportive environment that encourages self-expression and creativity.

Duration: 2 hours, 12 weeks
Tuition: $335

Kalixta Easterwood

Kalixta Easterwood is a senior at the University of West Georgia and resides in Newnan, Georgia. She is currently a candidate for the BFA in Theatre, Acting Concentration at UWG. She is also a candidate for the Musical Theatre Certificate, a 17-credit hour certificate housed in the UWG Theatre and Music programs. During her training at UWG, Kalixta was nominated four times for the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship.

In Fall of 2024, Kalixta was a part of UWG's production of The 39 Steps by Patrick Barlow. She played three different love interests within the show: Annabella, Margaret, and Pamela. In the Spring of 2025 she was a part of The REAL Theatre's production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, where she took on the role of Maggie! In addition to the diverse roles Kalixta has been cast in at UWG, she also landed the role of the iconic Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago, for Carrollton Repertory Theatre (CRT)! This role allowed her to put into practice her abilities as a triple threat. Kalixta has learned a lot from each role she has taken on. From perfecting a Standard English accent to flipping upside while being hoisted up in the air! Her favorite motto during a show is, "The show must go on!"
