The Woodruff Arts Centeris hosting the third annual HBCU AccessFest on Saturday, October 11th, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, in the Memorial Arts Building at the Woodruff Arts Center.
Explore opportunities in higher education, mentorship, and networking—all while experiencing world-renowned theater, music, and visual art at no cost. Don’t miss this day of empowerment, networking and inspiration.
Food trucks, and an acting workshop led by Morehouse alum, Bernard Gilbert will also be available.
Tickets are free with registration. Parking is not included.
The HCBU AccessFest will be followed by a 7:30pm performance of Covenant on the Hertz Stage of the Alliance Theatre. Students can use promo code COLLEGE15 for $15 tickets. HBCU AccessFest Improvisation Workshop – Hosted by Bernard Gilbert

Exclusively for HBCU AccessFest Attendees, join Morehouse College alum, stage and screen actor, Bernard Gilbert for an acting workshop focused on building improvisation skills and techniques. This workshop will help build actor confidence, and creativity and presence whether the actor is focused on a career on film or in theater. Workshop is perfect for new as well as veteran performers.

Bernard GilbertBernard Gilbert (he/his) is an Atlanta-raised actor celebrated for his compelling performances on stage and screen. A proud Morehouse College graduate with a Business degree, he also holds an MFA in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University. His television credits include recurring roles on “The Chi” (SHOWTIME), “Empire” (FOX), and “Utopia” (Amazon), alongside guest appearances on “Law & Order” (NBC), “Chicago P.D.” (NBC), and “The Big Leap” (FOX). On stage, Bernard has performed with renowned theaters such as The Goodman Theatre, A Red Orchid Theatre, and Northlight Theatre. His standout roles include Hero in Father Comes Home from the Wars, Dez in Skeleton Crew, Fish in The Royale, and Herald Loomis in Joe Turner’s Come and Gone. Recent Alliance Theatre credits include BUST. A recipient of the Princess Grace Award for Acting and the Ossie Davis Jr. Award for Best Featured Actor, Bernard feels deeply blessed to share this journey with his loving wife, Alicia, and grateful for the unwavering support of his amazing friends and family. |
