Artist Childcare Program
The Artist Childcare Program is designed to support artists working at the Alliance Theatre by providing free, arts-integrated childcare. The program addresses the challenge of non-traditional work schedules faced by theater professionals. It offers a nurturing and creative environment for children starting at infancy, ensuring they are cared for during rehearsals, performances, and other odd working hours.
The program's key features include an arts-integrated curriculum tailored to each child's developmental stage, with activities like story time, drama games, art-making, and music. Children also benefit from regular exposure to world-class art through visits to the Bernhardt Theatre for the Very Young and the High Museum of Art.
The Artist Childcare Program is staffed by Alliance Teaching Artists who are empowered with additional work, training, and professional development opportunities.
