Invite your EQ to the Team Meeting

This four-hour learning experience helps professionals enhance their emotional intelligence (EQ) to improve team productivity and increase the joy of meeting together. EQ is a powerful way to align a team’s energy towards a common goal, resulting in great success. According to studies, EQ is the strongest predictor of performance, explaining up to 58% of success in various job roles. By participating in this session, the team will acquire a range of EQ tools to actively listen, handle conflicts, embrace diversity, and cooperate effectively to leverage the team’s complementary skills, which are critical for achieving shared goals. The outcome of this session is an enriched, agile, and innovative team dynamic.

  • Remain open to and better navigate different personality styles and diversity of perspectives.
  • Design and facilitate focused gatherings that prompt the team to think, feel, and respond in intentional ways.

Setting the Stage

45 minutes

The session will start with a warm-up and focus exercise, for example:

The Best and Worst Ever

The team will create two flip charts - one for the best facilitator ever and one for the worst facilitator ever. The charts will have three columns to complete: Characteristics, Feelings, and Actions (Do/Don’t Do).

Building the Tool Kit

90 minutes

Next, the team will learn through interactive activities that focus on these specific skills aligned to on-the-job situations.

  • Understanding the preferences for how people think, communicate, and make decisions
  • Navigating challenging situations and personalities
  • Inventorying individual strengths and struggles
  • Applying best practices for meeting facilitation
  • Managing stress
Putting into Practice

75 minutes

Then the team will show their work.

EQ Meeting Fishbowl

Teams participate in an emotionally intelligent meeting exercise where they start, organize, and end a meeting effectively. They receive feedback from peers and coaches on their EQ meeting mastery in real-time.

Moving Forward

15 minutes

The session ends with time to reflect on what has been learned.
