BIOS

David L. Caruso (he/they) is a playwright and translator from Minneapolis. His plays include Sävë thë Whälës, etc. (Finalist, National Playwrights Conference, Terrence McNally New Play Incubator, Keneda/Alliance National Graduate Playwriting Competition, and Playwrights Realm Fellowship), Through Hike (Finalist, Int'l Thomas Wolfe Playwriting Competition, Semi-Finalist, National Playwrights Conference), Forest Knowledge (Company One, Acts of Joy Series), and Bill & Stephanie (High Honors, Wesleyan University). David has developed work with Playdate Theatre, Company One, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, and the Boston University School of Theatre.  David has taught Intro to Creative Writing at Boston University, and has been a Writing Fellow at Lighthouse Works (Fishers Island, NY). David graduated from Wesleyan University with High Honors, and from Boston University with an MFA in Playwriting. 

Amber McGinnis (Director) is a director/writer who works in theatre and film and holds an MFA in directing from Baylor University. Partial directing credits include: Tiny Beautiful Things (Theatrical Outfit)* Suzi Bass nominee Best Director, Best Play, Best Ensemble), How I Learned to Drive (Round House Theatre), The Wanderers and The Last Night of Ballyhoo (Theater J),  Top Girls (Keegan Theatre), Dancing at Lughnasa (Everyman Theatre), Equus* Helen Hayes Award nomination, Best Production (Constellation Theatre), World Builders and Dryland* HHA nomination, Best Director (Forum Theatre), and Girl in the Red Corner* HHA winner, Best New Play (The Welders). Film credits include her feature debut dark comedy, International Falls, winner of 5 grand jury prizes and now streaming Hulu, as well as the theatre/film hybrid musical séance, Animal Wisdom, produced by Woolly Mammoth Theatre Co., A.C.T., and the Bushwick Starr. Amber is a member of the inaugural “See It Be It” Fellowship with the Geena Davis Institute Bentonville Film Festival where she will soon direct her next feature, Buddy. www.amberdirector.com
